Zakład Wyrobów Metalowych STRUMET has partnered with PSI Polska to deploy an end-to-end project for computerization and automation of production processes at the company’s production facility in Strumień.

STRUMET is a manufacturing company with market presence dating back to 1995 and total headcount of more than 500. The company’s core business is the design and production of reusable metal containers used in transportation and storage. With its state-of-the-art machinery, STRUMET guarantees short order lead times and timely delivery to automotive clients such as Volkswagen, Daimler, Jaguar Land Rover, Pirelli and Continental. Having its own in-house design office, tool shop and prototype room in place, the company is able to create virtually any type of container from scratch while meeting the highest quality standards expected in the automotive business.

For many years, Zakład Wyrobów Metalowych STRUMET has invested in its machine base, which comprises numerically controlled automatic machines for cutting pipes, numerical presses, CNC machining centres, laser pipe cutting machines, laser metal sheet cutting plotters, pipe bending CNC posts, as well as one of Poland’s largest hot dip zinc plant. To make the most of the company’s technologies and streamline the work of its team, STRUMET decided to deploy the PSIasm production scheduling and production management system.

“While looking for an optimum IT system, we attached greatest weight to the wide range of functionalities as well as the experience and competencies of the project team. PSIasm will surely facilitate our order planning work and provide access to reliable real-time shop-floor data”, explains Wojciech Szczypka, VP of Zakład Wyrobów Metalowych STRUMET.

PSIasm is an innovative IT platform which combines advanced production scheduling (APS) and manufacturing execution (MES) systems, supporting all key processes related to shop-floor data management, production scheduling, execution and optimization.

“The first tangible effects are expected already in the first months after system deployment. Our experience in projects implemented in the metal industry shows that production efficiency can be boosted by even 10% thanks to the optimized use of the machine base. Reports on production efficiency, employee performance, quality and resource availability are the essential tools for the management team, which supports the key business decision-making process”, adds Aleksander Faleńczyk, Senior Sales Manager for production management systems at PSI Polska.
