KAN to deploy APS, MES and SCADA systems based on the PSIasm platform

PSI Polska has announced that the KAN Group, a leading Polish and European manufacturer of heating and sanitary systems, will implement the PSIasm platform to support the scheduling, monitoring and controlling of its production processes.

The KAN Group of Białystok, a supplier of modern KAN-therm installation systems, is widely recognized in Poland and across Europe. With a headcount of over 800, the company operates a network of branch units in Poland and has offices in Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Hungary. KAN-therm products are exported to around 60 countries worldwide.

KAN manufactures high-quality polyethylene and polypropylene pipes, PPSU and PP-R fittings, brass fittings, metal manifolds and fixtures, thermal insulation for floor heating, and a wide range of sheet metal products, including installation boxes. The company’s highly automated production processes are strictly supervised under the ISO 9001 quality management system and employ modern technologies to minimize energy consumption and environmental impacts.

The company’s rapid growth called for improvements in its business processes, including production scheduling and control of order lead times, through deployment of a state-of-the-art production management system. Having analyzed the solutions available on the market, KEN opted for the PSIasm software, which supports three key elements of the production management system: APS (production scheduling), MES (production monitoring) and SCADA (control of the production process).

PSIasm will enhance the planning and control of the company’s production process, offering access to key shop-floor information, including data on the utilization of available production capacities as well as unplanned downtime and failures.  This will reduce response times and streamline the decision-making process. With the new system in place, KAN will automate its production processes and take yet another step towards Industry 4.0.
