PSI Delivers Logistics Package Solution for P+S Werften
Direct production supply in shipbuilding with PSIwms
Berlin, 23 August 2010 – The PSI subsidiary PSI Logistics GmbH has been awarded by P+S Werften GmbH to deliver the warehouse management system PSIwms. The P+S Werften GmbH operates an automated high-bay warehouse in both Stralsund as well as in Wolgast. Both warehouses will be controlled with PSIwms in the future.
In the first project phase, which will be concluded by the end of November 2010, a completely new installation of PSIwms will be performed. In Stralsund, a PSI system which was installed in 1998 will be migrated to the current version. In this way by March 2011, the two wharfs will be connected with each other in PSIwms as per the site concept. The main PSIwms will be implemented in Stralsund and communicate directly with the Navison host system and two independent materials flow computers. In addition, the PSIwms Transport Control system will be employed at both sites.
The P+S Werften GmbH, which resulted from the merger of the Volkswerft Stralsund GmbH and the Peene-Werft GmbH is one of the world’s most modern wharfs. It employs 1,800 highly-specialized employees at the sites in Stralsund and Wolgast.
PSI AG develops and integrates complete solutions, on the basis of its own software products, for the management of energy networks (electricity, gas, oil, heat, water), cross-company production management (metals, automotive, mechanical and plant engineering, mining, logistics) and infrastructure management for telecommunications, transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs 1,400 persons in the group.
